Our Candidates

American Indians have been woefully underrepresented in elected office since our country’s foundation. Without a political voice, issues important to the American Indian and Alaskan Native communities have been largely ignored.

INDN’s List was founded to help correct this discrepancy in representation. INDN’s List has chosen to work with candidates for state and local office because only by building a strong foundation of elected officials at the state and local level can we hope to elect Indians to federal office.

INDN’s List helps provide the training, political expertise and funding candidates need to win elections. These resources have enabled our candidates to have an amazing 70% win record in our past five years. This has lead to a record number of American Indians serving in office across the country. This is an amazing start, but the majority of states still have no elected officials who are a member of a federally recognized tribe.

Our candidates come from across the country and are members of countless tribes but all share a dedication to preserving tribal sovereignty and working to address issues important to Indian Country.
