INDN’s List Condemns Racist Push Poll by District Attorney Candidate Rex Duncan
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
November 1, 2010
TULSA— INDN’s List, the nation’s first organization dedicated to developing American Indians’ political skills to win local and state elections, is calling on District Attorney candidate Rex Duncan to apologize for a racist push poll that asks voters if they would be less likely to vote for his opponent because of his “native ancestry.”
“Push polls like this are considered a violation of the American Association of Political Consultants code of ethics,” said Kalyn Free, president and founder of INDN’s List.
“This push poll in particular is blatantly racist and shows how Rex Duncan will treat the American Indian community if elected.”
Rex Duncan has run a negative campaign throughout this election in an attempt to distract voters from his lack of prosecutorial experience.
Jeff Jones, a member of the Osage Nation and an INDN’s List endorsed candidate, has over seven years experience in prosecuting felonies and currently serves as the First Assistant District Attorney. He has been endorsed by numerous law enforcement groups as well as the Tulsa World.
The Indigenous Democratic Network, INDN's List, is the only grassroots political organization devoted to recruiting and electing American Indian candidates and mobilizing the Indian vote throughout America on behalf of those candidates. INDN’s List is dedicated to making a unified Indian voice heard at the local, state and national levels by helping Indians build and run effective campaign organizations and to win elected offices across America. Since it’s founding in 2005, INDN’s List has helped 45 American Indian candidates win elections across the United States.
